You use this program to establish a link between a master and sub-asset.
You would typically use this for single assets that comprise components of significant value which can be identified separately. For example: An item of machinery may be made up of the main body, a motor and a switchgear. By defining the master asset as the machine itself and the motor and switchgear as sub-assets, each can be depreciated at a different rate, if required.
This pane provides a grid-style entry method for you to attach sub-assets to the master asset entered on the toolbar.
The master asset information is displayed in the Asset Details pane.
Field | Value | Description |
---|---|---|
Asset | Enter the asset code you want to link to the master asset as a sub-asset. | |
Add icon | Attaches the sub-asset to the master asset. | |
Delete icon | Detaches the sub-asset from the master asset. |
You can only access this program if you enabled the Sub-assets allowed setup option (Asset Register Setup).
