Espresso Design Menus

You use this program to design and maintain the menus to be displayed in Espresso. Menus can be created for your phone, tablet or desktop by system, company, role or operator.

Toolbar and menu

Field Description
New Create a new menu for your phone, tablet or desktop by system, company, role or operator.
Delete Delete the menu that is highlighted in the Available Menus treeview.
Copy Copy the currently highlighted menu to another layout by system, company, role or operator.
Phone Layout If a phone layout menu has been created for any menu type, it is displayed here when selected from the Available Menus treeview.
Tablet Layout If a tablet layout menu has been created for any menu type, it is displayed here when selected from the Available Menus treeview.
Desktop Layout If a desktop layout menu has been created for any menu type, it is displayed here when selected from the Available Menus treeview.
Design Mode Open the highlighted menu in design mode to add and maintain it.
Save and Exit Design Mode Save your changes and return to the Available Menus treeview.
Cancel Design Mode Select this to exit out of design mode.

Available Menus

All created menus are displayed in this pane. They are grouped per type and you can drill down to view the available menus. Highlight the menu to view it in the Layout pane.

Design Mode

Field Description
Available applications  
Properties Define the properties of the menu item.
Display text Enter the text to appear on the menu item.
Icon Assign an icon to the menu item.
Background color Select a color for the menu item.
Foreground color Select a color for the menu text.
Application settings These are the underlying properties of the application and are for information purposes only.

Notes and warnings

SYSPRO desktop layout menu

  • This menu is the default SYSPRO menu that ships with Espresso. This menu can be used as a template to create other menus. You cannot change or delete this menu.

Deletion considerations

  • You can right-click on a tile in design mode to delete it from the menu.
