You use this program to view, edit, copy, delete and rename files and folders you displayed using the Browse on Files and Folders program.
This text viewer is displayed when you select the View as Text option from the Browse on Files and Folders program.
For many file types (e.g. executables, images, etc), viewing a file as text has no real meaning as these files contain special (non-text) characters.
This text editor is displayed when you select the Edit option from the Browse on Files and Folders program.
Thew file you are editing may reside on the server or client machine, depending on the folder you browsed when selecting the Edit option from the Browse on Files and Folders program.
The text editor assumes that the file conforms to the normal rules for the platform being edited. On Windows for example, each line of text must be prefixed with a CR LF pair (carriage return, line feed). On a UNIX server, each line must be prefixed with a LF character pair.
The following file extensions are recognized as text file formats and can be edited:
Some of the above file types relate to general operating system file formats and others to SYSPRO specific files.
This screen is displayed when you select the Copy option from the Browse on Files and Folders program.

This program can only be accessed from the Browse on Files and Folders program.
The Text Viewer supports a maximum of 60 000 bytes. If the file is larger, then a warning is displayed indicating that only the first 60 000 characters are displayed.
The Text Editor supports a maximum of 60 000 bytes. If the file is larger, then a warning is displayed indicating that only the first 60 000 characters are displayed and the program reverts to a text viewer. You will not be able to save the file.
