VBScript Editor

You use this program to maintain VBScripts. These are simple text files that can be edited using the SYSPRO Admin VBScript Editor program or any text editor.

Toolbar and menu

Field Description
Save This saves your changes.
Cancel This exits the editor.
Edit VBScript This loads the VBScript Editor so that you can maintain the VBScript file for the selected event.
Clear This clears your VBScript code.

Select VBScript to edit
Option Description
Edit VBScript for this role Select this to maintain a script for a specific operator role.

The VBScript is only executed for operators attached to the role (Operator Maintenance).

You can use the Export function of the Customization Management program to copy the VBScript to other roles if required. This avoids the need to create the same script for each role.
Edit system-wide VBScript Select this to maintain a system wide script.

Although the script is executed for all operators regardless of roles, if a system-wide script and a role-defined script exist for the same form and event, then only the role-defined script is executed for operators belonging to that role.
VBScript file This indicates the name of the VBScript file for the selected object.
Events for field This indicates the field on the form or toolbar to which you are applying a Field event.

Toolbar indicates that you are defining a VBScript for a toolbar entry (see Toolbars).
Events for form This indicates the form to which you are applying a Form event.

Program access

  • You can access this program from within forms, panes and toolbars in SYSPRO by right clicking in the pane and selecting the Macro for: option.

    Alternatively, you can select the Edit VBScript function from the Customized Pane Editor program.

Activity considerations

  • Operator access to the following activities within this program can be restricted. You configure this using the Operator Maintenance program.
