You use this program to view a graphic representation of operations defined for the structure.
You can use your mouse button on any bar within the chart to invokes maintenance functions for the appropriate operation.
Field | Description |
---|---|
View | The number of operations displayed on the graph at any
one time depends on your selection at the Preference:
Number of operations to view. If the parent item has more operations than you selected to display, then these options enable you to navigate to the required operations on the graph. |
First operation | Select this to display operations from the first operation. |
Previous set | Select this to display the previous set of operations. The size of the set depends on your selection at the Preference: Number of operations to view. |
Previous operation | Select this to navigate back to the previous individual operation. |
Next operation | Select this to navigate forward to the next individual operation. |
Next set | Select this to display the next set of operations. The size of the set depends on your selection at the Preference: Number of operations to view. |
Last operation | Select this to navigate to the last operation. |

Close | Select this to save the preferences for the current run of the program only. |

Number of operations to view | You use this field to indicate the number of
operations you want to display in the graph. Your entry determines the series of operations displayed when you select the options from the View menu. |
This example shows how the Days Total is calculated.
Assume you have the following:
Operation | Work Center | Run Time | Move | Elapsed Time | Milestone |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | A | 12.58 | -1 | 1 | Yes |
2 | A | 0.18 | -1 | 1 | Yes |
3 | A | 4.80 | -1 | 1 | Yes |
4 | A | 9.82 | -1 | 1 | Yes |
5 | B | 3.00 | -1 | 1 | Yes |
In this example, the first operation is 1 day, and because it has a movement time of -1, the second operation will begin on the same day (i.e. 1 -1 = 0)
For the last operation, you cannot have a negative movement time, since there is no subsequent operation.
If the movement time of the last operation is negative, then the system adds back the last movement time as a positive value after calculating the graph-offset.
The calculation of the graph-offset and Days Total in this example is:
Op 1 (+1, -1) + Op 2 (+1, -1) + Op 3 (+1, -1) + Op 4 (+1, -1) + Op 5 (+1, -1) ... and then -(-1) = 1 for the Days Total
The negative movement time cannot be greater than the elapsed time, so subsequent operations cannot start before preceding ones. You should, therefore not use negative movement time on the last operation.
The graph can be accessed by selecting the Gantt Charticon from the Operations listview of the Structures and Routings program.
