You use this program to manually release order lines that were placed on backorder when creating a hierarchical sales order. The Billings and Cost of Sales values of the job are adjusted according to the changes made.
Field | Description |

Undistributed qty to release | This indicates the quantity to part bill. This is the quantity that must be moved from the backorder to the ship quantity on the sales order. |
Undistributed COS value | This indicates the work in progress value that must be moved from work in progress to cost of sales. |
Billing value released | This defaults to the selling price defined against the job. |
Release B/order Qty | Select this to release a quantity of items which are on backorder. |
Discard All Changes | You use this function to reset the quantities and costs to their original values. |
Post |
Select this to post the changes made to the backorder quantities and values. You can only access the Post function after you have made at least one change to the quantities. |
Close | Select this to return to the previous screen. |
You use the Release B/order Qty function to release a quantity of items which are on backorder.

Quantity to release |
Enter the quantity you want to release from backorder. This quantity then becomes the ship quantity which can be shipped and invoiced. If you have released a quantity that you now want to reverse, you can enter a negative quantity in this field. |
Cost |
This defaults to the total expected cost of the job, but can be changed. You use this field to enter the cost relative to the quantity you are releasing. You enter either the total cost or the unit cost for the quantity you are releasing, depending on your selection at the Cost basis option. You can only access this field if you pressed the Tab key from the Quantity to release field. |
New unit cost | This field automatically calculates the new unit cost based on the value you entered in the Cost field. |
Cost basis | You can only access this option if you pressed the Tab key from the Quantity to release field. |
Unit | Select this if the cost you entered is the unit cost for each item released. |
Total | Select this if the cost you entered is the total cost for the items released. |
OK | Select this to accept the information you entered and to return to the previous screen. |
Cancel | Select this to return to the previous screen. |
