Options | |||||
Use supplier xref for expected merchandise cost |
Select this to calculate the Expected cost of a merchandise line based on the purchase order quantity multiplied by the LCT merchandise price defined against the supplier. You assign the LCT merchandise price against the supplier using the Browse on Supplier Stock Code Cross Ref program. If you do not select this option, then the actual cost and GRN value printed for a merchandise line equals the Expected cost. |
||||
Assume total receipt when calculating actual merchandise cost |
This applies when you select Current shipments at the Report type field. Select this if (against merchandise lines) you want to print values in the Actual cost and GRN value columns as if the total shipment quantity had been received into stock.
|
||||
Assume expected element value when actual element value is zero | This applies when you select Current
shipments at the Report type
field. Select this if you want the expected value of the element to be printed in the Actual value column if no invoices have been processed against the element and the actual cost is zero. |

These options enable you to apply a theme to the report and to define multiple output destinations for the report once it has been compiled (SRS Output Options).
The report lists the cost elements attached to each purchase order line and accumulates the expected and actual costs against a shipment. The total for each line is then compared to the current inventory cost, or to the last cost if you are using FIFO or LIFO costing. The actual cost is calculated as the merchandise expected cost (price on purchase order multiplied by the quantity) divided by the quantity ordered multiplied by the quantity received. If the GRN suspense system is required (Purchase Orders Setup - GRN tab) then the GRN value will equal the actual cost.
When you process a shipment for a foreign currency supplier, the foreign value of the purchase order line is displayed in the supplier's currency next to the exchange rate. The supplier's currency code is printed next to the supplier code.
Where a fixed exchange rate was not used for a shipment, the exchange rate printed on the report is the current exchange rate as per the exchange rate table (Browse on Currencies). The merchandise cost is, however calculated at the entry rate. This is because the merchandise cost local value is calculated at the time the purchase order is attached to the shipment and this is the value reflected on the report. The report does not recalculate the merchandise cost local values based on the current exchange rate.
If an actual arrival date was entered for the vessel using the Browse on Vessels program, then this date is printed in the Est arrival date column. If no actual arrival date was entered, then the estimated arrival date is printed in the Est arrival date column.
The merchandise value on the report will only equal the value of the corresponding purchase order if all of the following are true:
