You use this program to maintain the list of operators, warehouses, work centers, job classifications and tool sets that have been assigned to scheduling groups.
Scheduling groups are ideally suited to multi-site manufacturing environments where you would typically have a different person scheduling the workload in each location.
Groups are mutually exclusive and completely separate entities (i.e. you cannot have same entities in different groups) and there is no visibility between scheduling groups. The reason for this is that you cannot have different schedulers scheduling the same machine or consuming the same stock (in the case of Advanced Scheduler).
Field | Description |
---|---|
Scheduling Group Details | |
Scheduling group | This indicates the scheduling group you are currently maintaining. |
Description | This indicates the description for the scheduling group. |
Allowed operators | Specify which operators are allowed to run the schedule
in this scheduling group. You can assign the same operator across multiple scheduling groups. If an operator is assigned to a single scheduling group, then the program automatically runs Factory Scheduling for that scheduling group. If the operator is assigned to more than one scheduling group, then the program prompts you for the scheduling group for which you want to run SYSPRO Factory Scheduling. If the operator is not assigned to any scheduling groups, then the operator cannot run SYSPRO Factory Scheduling. |
Scheduling Group Selections | |
List of warehouses | Specify a list of warehouses for the scheduling group. Once a warehouse has been assigned to a scheduling group, it will not be available for selection by another scheduling group. |
List of work centers | Specify a list of work centers for the scheduling group. Once a work center has been assigned to a scheduling group, it will not be available for selection by another scheduling group. |
List of job classifications | Specify a list of job classifications for the scheduling group. Once a job classification has been assigned to a scheduling group, it will not be available for selection by another scheduling group. This field is only available if you have enabled the Factory Scheduling Setup option: Scheduling Groups - Include job classifications. |
List of toolsets | Specify a list of tool sets for the scheduling group.
Once a tool set has been assigned to a scheduling group, it
will not be available for selection by another scheduling
group. This field is only available if you have enabled the Factory Scheduling Setup option: Scheduling Groups - Include toolsets. |
SQL Connection information |
These options only apply from Preactor version 11.2 as previous Preactor versions were only available in a C-Isam environment. This enables you to define SQL connection information for the Scheduling group. You use the Database tab of the Factory Scheduling Setup program to define the SQL connection information for the Preactor software itself. |
Server name | Indicate the SQL server on which the Scheduling group
resides. This can be a local or a remote server. For a local server, enter local in this field. |
Database | Indicate the Scheduling group database name. |
Username | Indicate the system administrator's user name for the database. |
Password | Indicate the system administrator's password for the database. |
Trusted connection | Select this if you want to use Windows authentication
to log in to the database. If you select this option, then you need not enter information in the Username and Password fields. |
Network License | If the license for SYSPRO Factory Scheduling requested from PREACTOR is not a local license, but a network license, then the setup option for Preactor should include these settings. |
Use network licence | Select this if a network license is used. |
Network server | Indicate the name of the server on which the license
resides. This is required if you selected the Network option. |
Network Port | Indicate the port for the server. This is optional.
Refer to Preactor's documentation for details on required port numbers and setup |
License number | Indicate the Network license number. This is optional.
Refer to Preactor's documentation for details on required license number values. |
