You use this program to capture and maintain order type codes required within the system.
Field | Value | Description |

Order type |
Indicates the code against which you want to assign an order description. |
|
Description | Describes the order type. This assists you in verifying that the correct order type has been entered. |
You can change the caption of the Order type field to suit your own requirements by making an entry at the Order type prompt setup option (Sales Order Setup).
If you want new orders to default to a specific order type then you can enter a default value within the Sales Order Setup program.
You can also assign a default order type to specific customers (Browse on Customers) that will be displayed in the Sales Order Entry program when processing orders for that customer. The order type assigned to the customer takes precedence over the default order type defined in the Sales Order Setup program.
Order type codes are only validated in the Sales Order Entry program if you enabled the Validate order type setup option (Sales Order Setup).
