You can use SYSPRO Reporting Services to revamp reports created by the GL Define Financial Reports program for use at board meetings and for publication. Once converted to SRS format, all the functionality associated with SRS can be applied to the report.
SYSPRO provides a standard vanilla template (tem_ gl_fin_report_writer) the GENQRR business object and SRS reports for all the sample financial reports provided with the Outdoors Company sample data.
If you change the report using the GL Define Financial Reports program after creating it in SRS, then the report may not render correctly in SRS.
Similarly, if you add, change or delete run-time prompts, you will be prompted to maintain the Report Form when you run the report in SRS for the first time after any of these changes. Thereafter, the report should render correctly in SRS when using the tem_gl_fin_report_writer template. If this is not the case, then you will need to use the Design Report function in SRS to correct the report.
Because GL Financial Report Writer reports are unique to each organisation they are not listed as part of the SRS reports on SYSPRO's Program List. However, you can add these reports to the SYSPRO Favorites pane.
SYSPRO provides a standard vanilla template tem_ gl_fin_report_writer which can be used. The template may not necessarily work for all your Financial Report Writer reports.
If the report is not rendered as you expected, you will need to use the Design Report function to correct the SRS report (e.g. if the first column of the report is numeric then it will not be rendered correctly, as the tem_gl_fin_report_writer template expects the first column of the report to be alphanumeric).
You can design your own template to convert your financial report into an SRS report without having to use the standard template provided.
The GL Financial Report Writer SRS reports cannot pass values from on report to another. For example you cannot have an Income Statement's report total set as a variable to pass to a Balance Sheet report.
The SRS report writer does not support the full list of functions that the standard report writer does.

Navigate to the SYSPRO Reporting Services program.
Select the GL Financial Report you want to run.
If this is the first time you are running the report from the SRS menu, then you need to select the Design Form function from the report screen displayed. You will also be prompted to maintain the Report Form, if you made any changes to the runtime prompts for the report.
If this is not the first time you are running the report from the SRS menu, then you can select the report from the SRS menu and select the Process function to run it as you would any other SRS report.
From the tree view of the Report Designer screen, select each item under the Report Controls node and drag it onto the first tab page of your report.
The standard report controls are displayed for all report and these are the equivalent of the Reporting Options of the GL Financial Reporting program (see Reporting Options). In addition, all the runtime prompts defined against the report are also displayed under the Report Controls.
The controls displayed in blue have been added to the report, whilst those displayed in black have not yet been added.
You must drag all the Report Controls onto the report before the report can be run.
Save the form and exit from the File menu.
