Structure and Routing Archive

You use the Structure and Routing Archive program to manually archive Bills of Materials for ECC-controlled items.

Alternatively, you can configure the system to archive an ECC bill of materials automatically when an engineering change order is moved to a status that accepts changes made to a bill of material (Bill of Materials Setup).

BOM Structure and Routing Archive

Field Description
Start Processing

Select this to commence processing.

Structure and routing details are copied to an archive file in the pre-defined folder for archived ECC bill of materials.

If you selected the option: Structure and routing archiving - Set (---/---) to current rev/rel (Bill of Materials Setup) and you selected Yes at the Use current field when adding ECC components to the bill of materials (Structures and Routings), then these components are archived with the current revision/release. If you did not select the option: Structure and routing archiving - Set (---/---) to current rev/rel then the components are archived with (---/---) as the revision and release. When retrieved, (---/---) is replaced with the current revison/release at the time of retrieval.

Entries are purged from the system only once they have been copied to the archive file.

The naming convention for the archive file name is as follows:

Xyynnnnn.XML

where X indicates the company id; yy indicates the type of archive file (e.g. BO for bill of materials) and nnnnn indicates the archive number.

[Note]

When archiving structures and routings in batch mode, then one (1) archive file is generated for each run of the Structure and Routing Archive program.

Notes and warnings

Restrictions and limits

  • You can only select an ECC bill of material for archiving when an engineering change order is moved to a status that accepts the changes made to the bill of material.

Application Help Pane

Application Help Panes provide step-by-step instructions for various functions within the program, including a brief overview of what the program does, what setup options are required and how to personalize the program. The intention is that the pane provides information that is uncluttered and easy to navigate.

You can embed an Application Help Pane:

  • in the main SYSPRO menu

  • in any program with panes, if not using roles

  • when adding a role layout in Design Mode.

Inserting Application Help

You would typically follow this procedure to display help for the current program in a customized pane that can be pinned to the program window.

Information includes step-by-step instructions for the various functions available within the program, including a brief overview of what the program does, what setup options are required and how to personalize the program.

  1. Open the program for which you want to insert application help into a customized pane.

This functionality is only available for a program that has panes.

  2. Right-click any form field.
