You use this program to create and maintain the machines that you require in the Bill of Materials module.

Machine | Enter the code of the machine to maintain. A machine is an apparatus used to apply mechanical power, having several parts each with a definite function. Within SYSPRO, you capture a list of machines used in your factory by entering the machine number, the name of the machine and the standard time per month. When posting labor to a job (using the Labor Posting program) you can specify the machine number against which postings must be recorded. You can measure the efficiency of your machines by printing a Machine Efficiency report. This report lists month-to-date values processed for the machines from postings made in the Labor Posting program. |
Play | Select this to use the Multimedia program to view multimedia objects defined against the machine. |
Edit | Select this to use the Multimedia program to define multimedia objects against the machine. |
Field | Description |

Machine | This indicates the code of the machine you are currently maintaining. |
Description | Indicate a description for the machine. The description is printed on reports and can be used to verify that you have entered the correct machine. |
Time unit of measure | This indicates the unit of measure for the value in the Standard time per month field. |
Standard time per month |
You use this field to indicate how much time is available for the machine per month. This is used in the machine efficiency calculation. The unit of measure on which your entry is based is extracted from the entry made at the option: Default description of time units (Bill of Materials Setup). |
Work center | This indicates the work center to which the machine is assigned. Work centers are maintained using the Browse on Work Centers program. |
Shift id | This indicates the machine's shift id that is used within the Advanced Planning & Scheduling system. |
Inserting Application Help
You would typically follow this procedure to display help for the current program in a customized pane that can be pinned to the program window.
Information includes step-by-step instructions for the various functions available within the program, including a brief overview of what the program does, what setup options are required and how to personalize the program.
Open the program for which you want to insert application help into a customized pane.
This functionality is only available for a program that has panes.
Right-click any form field.
You can also click the triangle menu icon that appears in the title area of a pane.
Select Insert Application Help from the context-sensitive menu.
The application help appears in a pane within your program. You can reposition the pane using the docking stickers or pin it to the program window.
Removing the Application Help pane
If you no longer want to display application help in a pane for your current program, you can simply remove it.
Select the Close icon in the right-hand corner of the application help pane.
Confirm that you want to delete the pane.
