Contact Add Customer Wizard Preferences

You use this program to configure default settings you want to apply when creating a customer from an account.

You access this program by selecting the Preferences option or the Address Mapping Preference option from the Create Customer from Account Wizard program.

Defaults

The options on this tab page enable you to indicate how you want selective customer information to be configured.

Field Description
Customer These options are only available if your customer numbering method is set to Manual.
Default to account code Set the customer code to be the same code as the Account code.
No default Select this if you do not want to default the customer code to the Account code.

If you select the this option together with the option: Allow override, then you can enter the customer code when using the Create Customer from Account Wizard program.

Allow override Change the customer code when using the Create Customer from Account Wizard program.

If you don't select this option, then you will define the customer code in the AR Customer Maintenance program before you save the customer details.

Date customer created  
Use date account created Set the date on which the Account was created as the customer creation date.
Use current date Set the date on which the customer is created as the current system's date.
Allow override Change the customer creation date when using the Create Customer from Account Wizard program.
Customer on hold
Field Description
Use account status Set the customer's on hold status to be the same as the on hold status of the Account.
Yes Place the customer on hold immediately on creation.
No Select this if you do not want to place the customer on hold immediately on creation.
Warn if account is on hold Display a warning if the On hold status against the Account is currently set to Yes.
Allow override Change the customer on hold status when using the Create Customer from Account Wizard program.

Options

Field Description
After customer added  
Delete account after saving the customer Delete the Account once the new customer has been created.

The following information is not transferred to the customer details and will be lost if you select this option:

  • Account type
  • User defined fields 3, 4 and 5
  • Certain custom form fields (i.e. custom form field names that are not defined against both an account and a customer cannot be transferred)
Allow override Select this to manually select whether to delete the account once the customer is created.

You are given the option to delete the Account at the end of the Create Customer from Account Wizard program, after you saved the customer details in the AR Customer Maintenance program.
