You use this program to view any web page or XML document, but it is specifically designed to work with XML documents created from the GL Financial Report Writer.
If you created a XML report using the GL Financial Report Writer (see GL Define Financial Reports), then you can view the report, execute the report, perform in-line editing and use the drill down features.
When you select the GL XML Report Viewer program, the GL XML Report Browser screen is displayed enabling you to select the report you want to view.
The screen displays XML reports created using the GL Define Financial Reports program and saved to the default ...\Base\FinancialReportsXml\ directory on the server.
You can close this screen and select the Open option from the File menu to enter the full path name of the report you want to view if it was not saved to the default ...\Base\FinancialReportsXml\ directory.
Once a report is selected, its details are displayed in the tri-pane GL XML Report Viewer screen.
The GL XML Report Browser window is also displayed when you select the GL XML Report Browser icon from the GL XML Report Viewer screen.

Indicate the xml report you want to view. The full pathname must be entered. If you open an XML report you created using the GL Financial Report Writer, then the report is displayed in the left-hand pane. Additionally, if you selected the option to Drill down to the ledger accounts, transactions and source documents when you created the report, then these details can be displayed in the two right-hand panes. |

Only one drill down can be used per report when you use the GL Define Financial Reports program to define an XML report with more than one column. In this case, the drill down information is displayed for the lowest and highest range of all the columns requested.
For example, if you requested movements for periods 1-6 in one column and movements for periods 7-12 in another column, then the drill down displays all movements for periods 1-12.
The footer information included on the report (when printed) is not controlled by SYSPRO, but by the browser used to view the report. It can, therefore, not be removed by SYSPRO.
Application Help Panes provide step-by-step instructions for various functions within the program, including a brief overview of what the program does, what setup options are required and how to personalize the program. The intention is that the pane provides information that is uncluttered and easy to navigate.
You can embed an Application Help Pane:
in the main SYSPRO menu
in any program with panes, if not using roles
when adding a role layout in Design Mode.
Inserting Application Help
You would typically follow this procedure to display help for the current program in a customized pane that can be pinned to the program window.
Information includes step-by-step instructions for the various functions available within the program, including a brief overview of what the program does, what setup options are required and how to personalize the program.
Open the program for which you want to insert application help into a customized pane.
This functionality is only available for a program that has panes.
Right-click any form field.
You can also click the triangle menu icon that appears in the title area of a pane.
Select Insert Application Help from the context-sensitive menu.
The application help appears in a pane within your program. You can reposition the pane using the docking stickers or pin it to the program window.
Removing the Application Help pane
If you no longer want to display application help in a pane for your current program, you can simply remove it.
Select the Close icon in the right-hand corner of the application help pane.
Confirm that you want to delete the pane.
