Job Actions

You use this program to identify suggested and/or existing jobs that require corrective action to meet what has been planned within the snapshot files.

Report Options

Field Description
Action selections

Indicate jobs according to the action messages displayed against them.

Jobs with the action messages: Jobs, Live job completed and Live job purged, take precedence over all others and are printed regardless of the action selections made.

New Select this to include all suggested jobs, together with their corresponding operations.
Overdue Select this to include all jobs and operations with a suggested delivery date earlier than the latest requirements calculation date.

All jobs matching this criteria are included in the report, irrespective of the Actions selected (Reschedule, Reschedule Out, etc).

Cancel Select this to include all jobs and operations with a suggested delivery date later than 01/01/2045. The Requirements Calculation program reschedules jobs and purchase orders for which there is no demand to beyond this date.
Reschedule Select this to include all existing jobs that have a planned start date that is not equal to the suggested start date, or a planned delivery date that is not equal to the suggested delivery date.
Reschedule in

Select this to include all existing jobs and operations not started, where the suggested delivery and start dates are both earlier than the live delivery and start dates.

Expedited jobs (i.e. existing jobs and operations started where the suggested delivery dates are earlier than the live job delivery date) are also selected.

Reschedule out

Select this to include all existing jobs and operations not started, where the suggested start and delivery dates are both later than the live delivery and start dates.

De-expedited jobs (i.e. existing jobs and operations started where the suggested delivery dates are later than the live delivery dates) are also selected.

Increase quantity

Select this to include all existing jobs where the suggested quantity is greater than the quantity on the live job. The Requirements Calculation program will not suggest quantity changes.

This message is printed if the quantity was manipulated using the Requirements Planning Query program, or manually changed using the Work in Progress module without re-running the snapshot.

Decrease quantity

Select this to include all existing jobs where the suggested quantity is less than the quantity on the live job. The Requirements Calculation will not suggest quantity changes.

This message is printed if the quantity was manipulated using the Requirements Planning Query program, or manually changed using the Work in Progress module without re-running the snapshot.

Exclude actions  
Less than (days)

If the number of days by which a job must be rescheduled is less than the entry made here, then the job is excluded from the report.

This applies to the following Action selections: Reschedule, Reschedule in, Reschedule out.

Confirmed jobs

This does not apply if you enabled the option: New at the Action selection field.

Include Select this to include confirmed jobs in the selection process.
Exclude Select this to exclude confirmed jobs from the selection process.
Only Select this to only include confirmed jobs in the selection process.
Jobs on hold This applies only if you enabled the option: New at the Action selection field.
Include Select this to include jobs on hold in the selection process.
Exclude Select this to exclude jobs on hold from the selection process.
Only Select this to only include jobs on hold in the selection process.
Not loaded during F.F.S.  
Include Select this to include jobs that could not be loaded during Forward Finite Scheduling. The exception message for these jobs will be not loaded.
Exclude Select this to exclude those jobs that could not be loaded during Forward Finite Scheduling.
Only Select this to only print those jobs that could not be loaded during Forward Finite Scheduling.
Print options  
Print pegging Select this to print pegging information created during the Requirements Calculation. The correct pegging will not be printed for a job that has been moved manually.
Print operations Select this to print the operations allocated to jobs.
Print co-products Select this to print co-product information for notional parts on the report. Pegging for a notional job is obtained from its co-products.
Print manufacturing u/m quantities This applies if you are using Manufacturing unit of measure (WIP Setup - General 2 tab). In addition, you need to have defined a Manufacturing unit of measure for the relevant stock items (Stock Code Maintenance) and used the Manufacturing unit of measure in the Bills of Materials.

Select this to print the manufacturing unit of measure for the quantities on the report.

If you do not select this option, then the stocking unit of measure for the quantities is printed.

Other Options

Field Description
Part type selection This option enables you to select the jobs to include in the report based on the part type of the parent item (Stock Code Maintenance).
All Select this to include jobs for all items irrespective of their part type.
B- Bought out Select this to include jobs for all items defined as bought out.
M - Made in Select this to include jobs for all items defined as made in.
S - Subcontracted Select this to include jobs for all items defined as subcontracted.
C - Co-product Select this to include jobs for all items defined as co-products.
N - Notional part Select this to include jobs for all items defined as notional parts.

Selection criteria

Field Description
Finished stock code selection Indicate the finished stock code(s) for which you want to include jobs in the report.
Start date selection Indicate the start date(s) for which you want to include jobs in the report.
Planner selection Indicate the planner(s) for which you want to include jobs in the report.
Product class selection Indicate the product class(es) for which you want to include jobs in the report.
Suggested job selection Indicate the suggested job(s) you want to include in the report.
Existing job selection Indicate the existing job(s) you want to include in the report.
Warehouse selection

Indicate the warehouse(s) for which you want to include jobs in the report.

This selection is not available if you selected the setup option: Consolidate selected warehouses (Requirements Planning Setup - Warehouses tab).

Output Options

These options enable you to apply a theme to the report and to define multiple output destinations for the report once it has been compiled (SRS Output Options).

Report Details

The report prints all overdue jobs, regardless of the action to be taken against them. Therefore it is a useful report to identify both jobs that have and have not been started and all the suggested actions against them. Non-started jobs can be actioned in the Job Review program.

For existing jobs, files that were copied to the snapshot directory by the Requirements Calculation program are compared to the live files. For suggested jobs, the information is obtained from the snapshot files.

The planning indicated within the snapshot files is generated by the Requirements Calculation program, or by subsequent manual manipulation of the snapshot files using the Requirements Planning Query program.

Information for suggested jobs is printed first, followed by existing jobs. The latest requirements calculation date is printed on each report.

The message: Not loaded is displayed under the Period column for any pegging falling within the period January 1st, 2040 and December 12th, 2045.
