SO Release Reserved Stock

When you select the Start Review option, the items on backorder are displayed in this listview according to the review criteria you indicated.

Field Description
Release Lines Select this to release all selected lines displayed in the listview into ship according to the release quantities indicated.

The Reserved quantity against the sales order is reduced and the Ship quantity is increased.

Only lines with a tick in the Selected column of the listview are included for release.

You are prompted to enter lot, bin and serial information for lines to which these apply if this information was not entered at the time of reserving the stock (see SO Reserve or Ship Stock).

If you are performing credit checking on current orders only (Sales Order Setup), then when the order quantity is moved to ship, a credit check is performed by the Release Reserved Stock program.

Off-invoice and accrual trade promotions are updated when the parent line is moved from reserved to ship and any associated miscellaneous line values are updated.

A free goods trade promotion line may only be moved from reserved to ship if sufficient of the parent line has been shipped.

If the option: Exclude all lines which fail credit check in Back Order Release is selected (Sales Order Setup), then the lines are ignored and not released. If this option is not selected, then the lines are released, but the order is placed into suspense.

Change Quantity

Select this to change the quantity you want to release for the order line currently highlighted in the listview.

Components Select this to use the Single Level Bill of Materials program to view all components attached to the parent item currently highlighted in the listview.

This option is displayed only if the order line is for a kit parent type.

If you release a parent stock item without completing the necessary allocations for a component, then the component is marked as changed and the system no longer regards it as part of the kit.

Selected This listview column enables you to toggle between selecting/deselecting each line in the listview for inclusion in/exclusion from release.

A tick in this listview column indicates that the order line is selected for release and will be released when you select the Release Lines option.

All lines are automatically set to selected (ticked) if you selected the Mark all lines as selected criteria.

Reserved Quantity

Indicate the quantity you want to move from reserved into ship.

The quantity cannot be negative and cannot be more than the quantity originally reserved (i.e. you can only decrease the quantity reserved, not increase it).

If lot, bin and serial information already exists against the reserved quantity, then the Lot, Bin, Serial Allocations program is loaded. This enables you to update this information for the new quantity entered.

This field is enabled when you select the Change Quantity option.

Total This is displayed at the bottom of the listview and indicates the number of order lines currently selected for release (i.e. the lines with a tick in the Selected column).
