Copy Promotion Code

You use this program to copy one promotion code to another promotion code.

Select this to perform the copy process and create the new promotion code.

All promotion code details, including the extended Stock code qualifications, Budget limits and associated product information are copied.

Once created, the new promotion code can be maintained using the Promotion Code Maintenance program.

Copy from Promotion code Indicate the existing promotion code from which you are creating the new promotion code.

Field Description
Copy from promotion code This indicates the existing promotion code from which you are creating the new promotion code.
Description This indicates the description for the promotion code displayed in the previous field.
Promotion type This indicates the promotion type of the promotion code from which you are creating the new promotion code.
Copy to promotion code Enter a promotion code for the new promotion you are creating.
New description Enter a description for the new promotion code.
Promotion dates Indicate the date range for which the new promotion is valid.

These fields default to the values defined against the promotion code you are copying from, but can be changed.

Field Description
Requested delivery date Select this to indicate that the promotion dates are based on the customer request date of sales orders.
Order date Select this to indicate that the promotion dates are based on the order date of sales orders.
Start date Enter the date from which the promotion applies.
Expiry date Enter the date on which the promotion ends.
Customer category selection Indicate the customers to whom the new promotion must apply.
Currency Indicate the currency in which the promotion applies. Only those customers, within the Customer category you select, whose currency matches the currency entered here are eligible for the promotion.
Customer category This option enables you to define the customers who qualify for the promotion.

Select this to apply the promotion to all customers

The promotion is only applied to the customers for whom the option: Trade promotions customer is selected (AR Customer Maintenance).

Geographic areaSelect this to apply the promotion to a single geographic area.
Customer classSelect this to apply the promotion to a single customer class
Customer branchSelect this to apply the promotion to a single Accounts Receivable branch.
Buying groupSelect this to apply the promotion to a single buying group.
Customer listSelect this to apply the promotion to a list of customers.
Geographic area listSelect this to apply the promotion to a list of geographic areas.
Customer class listSelect this to apply the promotion to a list of customer classes.
Branch list Select this to apply the promotion to a list of Accounts Receivable branches.
Customer Enter the single customer to whom the promotion applies. This field is only displayed if you selected Customer at the Customer categoryselection field.
Geographic area list Enter the single geographic area to which the promotion applies. This applies if you selected Geographic area at the Customer categoryselection field.
Customer class Enter the single customer class to which the promotion applies. This field is only displayed if you selected Customer class at the Customer categoryselection field.
Customer branch Enter the branch to which the promotion applies. This field is only displayed if you selected Branch at the Customer category field.
Buying group Enter the single buying group to which the promotion applies. This field is only displayed if you selected Buying group at the Customer categoryselection field.
Customer category list Indicate a list of customers, geographic areas, customer classes or AR branches to whom the promotion applies. This is only available if you selected one of the list options at the Customer categoryselection field.
Apply to sub accounts Select this to also apply the promotion to the sub accounts attached to the customer account.

The promotion is applied to the sub-accounts regardless of whether sub-account invoices are attached to the master account or not.

This is only enabled if you selected Customerat the Customer categoryselection field.

The promotion only applies to the master account if you do not select this option.

Secondary customer category selection Indicate the secondary customer(s) to qualify for a promotion. The secondary category(ies) will be available as an alternative criteria for qualifying, or will be mandatory depending on the Customer category type selected.

Field Description
Does not apply Select this if you are not using more than one customer category in your promotion.
Qualify when both selections apply Select this if both customer categories apply to the promotion (i.e. both are mandatory to qualify for the promotion).
Qualify when either selection applies Select this if either customer category applies to the promotion (i.e. one or other customer category can qualify for the promotion independently of each other).
Secondary customer category Indicate the secondary customer category to qualify for the promotion.
Secondary apply to sub accounts Select this to also apply the promotion to the secondary sub accounts attached to the secondary customer account selected.
Budget limits  
Retain limit options

Select this to use the Budget type and budget Limit from the promotion code you are copying. Only select this option if you are using promotion limits (see Budget Limits).

Program access

eSignature considerations

Electronic Signatures provide security access, transaction logging and event triggering. This enables you to increase control over your system changes.

Access to the following eSignature transactions within this program can be restricted at Operator, Group, Role or Company level. You configure this using the Electronic Signatures program.

Application Help Pane

Application Help Panes provide step-by-step instructions for various functions within the program, including a brief overview of what the program does, what setup options are required and how to personalize the program. The intention is that the pane provides information that is uncluttered and easy to navigate.

You can embed an Application Help Pane:

  • in the main SYSPRO menu

  • in any program with panes, if not using roles

  • when adding a role layout in Design Mode.

Inserting Application Help

You would typically follow this procedure to display help for the current program in a customized pane that can be pinned to the program window.

Information includes step-by-step instructions for the various functions available within the program, including a brief overview of what the program does, what setup options are required and how to personalize the program.

  1. Open the program for which you want to insert application help into a customized pane.

    This functionality is only available for a program that has panes.

  2. Right-click any form field.

    You can also click the triangle menu icon that appears in the title area of a pane.

  3. Select Insert Application Help from the context-sensitive menu.

    The application help appears in a pane within your program. You can reposition the pane using the docking stickers or pin it to the program window.

Removing the Application Help pane

If you no longer want to display application help in a pane for your current program, you can simply remove it.

  1. Select the Close icon in the right-hand corner of the application help pane.

  2. Confirm that you want to delete the pane.
