You use this program to maintain General Ledger analysis Categories, category Types and category Codes.
You typically define analysis categories for ledger accounts that need to be analyzed. These could be expense accounts such as Donations, Repairs and Maintenance, Travel expenses, Entertainment, etc.
The GL Analysis Codes listview displays details of the category codes currently defined. The Browse on GL Analysis Categories listview displays details of the categories currently defined.

Delete | Select this o delete the category currently displayed. |
Save | Select this to save the details you entered or changed. |
Analysis category | Enter the category you want to add or maintain. |
Play | Use the Multimedia program to view multimedia objects defined against the category. |
Edit | Use the Multimedia program to define multimedia objects against the category. |
Within each analysis Category you can define the category Types you require. Within each category Type, you define the category Codes you require.

Type 1 - 5 | Up to five analysis types can be defined for each

Mandatory |
Indicate whether the category type is mandatory. If you define an analysis type as mandatory, then a value must be entered against the type when the GL Analysis program is used to distribute values. At least one Type must be defined as mandatory. |

Code | Enter the code reference for the selected category
type. Category codes enable you to define an additional level of analysis within each category Type. At least one category code must be defined for each Type. You can define as many category codes against each Type as you require. Transaction values are processed to these codes when you use the GL Analysis program. |

Inserting Application Help
You would typically follow this procedure to display help for the current program in a customized pane that can be pinned to the program window.
Information includes step-by-step instructions for the various functions available within the program, including a brief overview of what the program does, what setup options are required and how to personalize the program.
Open the program for which you want to insert application help into a customized pane.
This functionality is only available for a program that has panes.
Right-click any form field.
You can also click the triangle menu icon that appears in the title area of a pane.
Select Insert Application Help from the context-sensitive menu.
The application help appears in a pane within your program. You can reposition the pane using the docking stickers or pin it to the program window.
Removing the Application Help pane
If you no longer want to display application help in a pane for your current program, you can simply remove it.
Select the Close icon in the right-hand corner of the application help pane.
Confirm that you want to delete the pane.
